CM Balochistan Pledges Support for Five Orphaned Siblings, Vows No Closure of Educational Institutions

Bugti assures education, accommodation and welfare support for orphaned children; condemns attack on Nushki girls’ college and vows action against perpetrators

Staff Report

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has pledged comprehensive support for five orphaned siblings and their mother after a video showing one of the children working at a roadside food stall went viral on social media.

He directed the relevant authorities to ensure the children’s education, proper upbringing and access to suitable accommodation and other essential facilities. The Chief Minister met Munir Ahmed, the child featured in the video, and received a detailed briefing on the family’s living conditions and financial hardships. During the meeting, Bugti directed the authorities to take immediate measures to secure a better future for the children and their mother.

He ordered that Munir Ahmed, his younger brother and their three sisters be admitted to educational institutions. He also instructed the relevant authorities to arrange suitable accommodation and provide other essential facilities for the family. The measures are intended to enable the children to continue their education without being burdened by household responsibilities and financial difficulties.

Bugti vows to keep educational institutions open despite terrorist threats

In a separate development, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti vowed to eliminate terrorism from Balochistan and bring those responsible for attacks on innocent civilians to justice, asserting that violence and intimidation would not deter the provincial government from promoting education, peace and development.

Speaking about the security situation in the province, the chief minister strongly condemned the recent attack on a girls’ college in Nushki, saying terrorists were attempting to deprive Baloch children, particularly girls, of education and opportunities for progress. He reiterated that the provincial government would neither bow to intimidation nor allow educational institutions to close under any circumstances.

“Baloch society has always upheld dignity, honour and respect for education, but it has now become evident to the people of the province that these elements want to keep our daughters away from education and push them towards a path of extremism and violence,” he said.

Bugti warned that depriving children of access to education could leave them vulnerable to propaganda aimed at turning them against the state. He said the government would relentlessly pursue those responsible for the attack and that security forces would track down the perpetrators and ensure they were brought to justice.
