JEDDAH: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation (SACF) have signed a landmark agreement to build a state-of-the-art international cricket stadium in Jeddah, marking a major step forward for the growth of cricket in the Kingdom.
The agreement was signed by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and SACF Chairman Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Mohammad Al Saud during Naqvi's official visit to the Kingdom.
Under the partnership, the PCB will oversee the development of a modern cricket venue built according to the standards of the International Cricket Council. The stadium will feature advanced facilities designed to host international matches and major cricket events.
Beyond the construction of the stadium, both cricket boards will work together on infrastructure development, technical expertise, stadium planning and operational management to strengthen the sport's foundation in Saudi Arabia.
Officials said the project aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals by promoting sports investment, boosting sports tourism and expanding public participation in cricket.
Speaking after the signing ceremony, Naqvi described the agreement as a significant milestone for cricket in the Kingdom, expressing confidence that the partnership would create new opportunities for players and deepen sporting ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Saudi cricket officials also welcomed the agreement, saying the collaboration represents an important step toward establishing a long-term future for cricket in the country.
