KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Monday announced that Sindh is making global history by launching the world’s largest housing initiative, with 2.1 million homes currently under construction across the province, aimed at providing safe and affordable shelter to deserving families.
Sharing details on his social media account X, Sindh Information Minister said that beneficiaries are receiving direct housing subsidies of PKR 300,000 in phased payments, ensuring transparency while empowering citizens to build dignified homes of their own. He termed the initiative a landmark step toward inclusive development and social uplift across the province.
“The housing scheme is not limited to rural areas alone. Development work is underway across Sindh, including Karachi, to ensure equal access to modern housing facilities for people from all walks of life,” the minister stated.
He emphasized that the historic initiative reflects the Sindh government’s strong commitment to sustainable development, economic growth, and public welfare, adding that large-scale construction activity is also generating employment and stimulating the local economy.
Sharjeel Inam Memon said the housing project will significantly improve living standards, strengthen communities, and provide long-term security to millions of families.
“Together, we are building a stronger, more prosperous Sindh, where every citizen has the right to a safe home,” he added.
