Three-member bench issues notices to parties, adjourns hearing until last week of August

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday suspended the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to conduct re-polling at four polling stations of Balochistan Assembly constituency PB-9 Kohlu on August 27 and restored the membership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Mir Chingez Khan Marri.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan heard the case and issued notices to the parties before adjourning further proceedings until the last week of August.

The court suspended the Election Commission’s re-polling order and restored Mir Chingez Khan Marri’s membership of the Balochistan Assembly.
