KARACHI: Acting on intelligence reports, security forces conducted a joint operation in the Jiwani area where smugglers had concealed a significant amount of drugs in the surrounding hills.
According to a spokesperson for the Pakistan Coast Guards, the authorities seized approximately 1,050 kilograms of hashish and 200 kilograms of methamphetamine, commonly known as ice.
The spokesperson said the confiscated narcotics are estimated to be worth around $110 million in the international market and were likely intended to be transported to foreign destinations through maritime routes.
He added that the Pakistan Coast Guards remain fully committed to preventing drug trafficking and dismantling the networks involved in the illegal trade.
The spokesperson further said that narcotics smuggling networks often generate financial resources for organised criminal groups and terrorist elements, making efforts to eliminate such activities crucial for national security.
