JI Leaders Hold High-Level Talks with Balochistan CM on Provincial Challenges

Delegations discuss political stability, public welfare, border trade

QUETTA: In a significant political engagement, Deputy Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Liaquat Baloch and JI Balochistan Ameer and MPA Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, led a high-powered delegation in meetings with Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Khan Bugti, focusing on the province’s political landscape, security challenges, and urgent public welfare concerns.

The JI delegation included senior leaders such as Balochistan General Secretary Murtaza Khan Kakar, parliamentary leader Engineer Abdul Majeed Badini, Zahida Akhtar Baloch, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Roshan, Maulana Muhammad Arif Damar, and Quetta Ameer Abdul Naeem Rand.

During discussions with the Chief Minister, the leaders highlighted pressing issues including employment opportunities, education, healthcare access, and the delivery of essential services across Balochistan. They stressed that addressing these challenges requires practical, sustainable solutions rather than superficial measures.

Welcoming the delegation, CM Mir Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to peace, stability, and public welfare. He emphasized that ongoing efforts aim to resolve Balochistan’s challenges through meaningful consultations with political leadership from all parties, exploring avenues for cooperation and initiatives that serve the province’s broader interests.

In a parallel engagement, Liaquat Baloch, also serving as Secretary General of the Mili Yakjehti Council Pakistan, met with National Party head and former CM Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, accompanied by the provincial JI leadership including Zahid Akhtar Baloch, Maulana Muhammad Arif Damar, and Quetta Ameer Naeem Rand. The meeting underscored a growing consensus on the need for collaborative approaches to Balochistan’s persistent political, security, and economic challenges.

Leaders from both political formations emphasized the necessity for national and provincial political leadership, along with parliamentary representatives, to work jointly in resolving long-standing issues. They agreed that most challenges are fundamentally political in nature and require constructive dialogue, negotiations, traditional jirga mechanisms, and comprehensive discussions to ensure the restoration of rights and sustainable peace throughout the province.

Economic concerns also featured prominently in discussions, with leaders stressing the urgent need to revive border trade through legitimate channels while curbing illegal bribery-based commerce, a step they described as crucial for provincial stability.

Both delegations reaffirmed their commitment to continuing political and democratic struggle aimed at protecting the rights of Balochistan’s people, while promoting peace, stability, and inclusive development across the province.
