Imran Khan to Be Shifted to Hospital Today, Supporters Urged to Ensure Court Compliance: Waqas

PTI CIS urges supporters to avoid gathering outside hospital, prioritise Khan’s treatment and maintain a peaceful environment

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram said that PTI Founder Imran Khan would, Insha’Allah, be shifted to a hospital today for medical treatment.

PTI CIS stated that he was fully aware of the emotions of Imran Khan’s supporters and their eagerness to catch a glimpse of their leader. However, he stressed that their leader’s health and treatment remained the foremost priority.

Waqas Akram appealed to all PTI workers and members of the public to maintain a safe distance from the hospital and refrain from gathering outside the facility.

He urged supporters and other individuals not to assemble at the hospital so that the former prime minister’s treatment could proceed without any disruption and medical staff could provide him with the necessary care and facilities.

“Pray for Imran Khan’s speedy and complete recovery and cooperate in maintaining a peaceful environment at the hospital,” he said.

PTI CIS also urged supporters to demonstrate their concern for their leader Khan by respecting the requirements of his treatment and allowing doctors and medical staff to carry out their duties without interference. He reiterated that ensuring Imran Khan’s health and receiving proper medical care were the party’s top priorities and called upon everyone to cooperate accordingly.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered Imran to be shifted to Shifa International Hospital within two days, with the deadline set to expire tonight, but the government filed a review plea, saying that such an order “could not have been passed” had the court noted certain statutory provisions.
