IG Balochistan Tahir Pays Tribute to 1,115 Martyred Police Personnel

QUETTA: Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir has said that 1,115 officers and personnel of the Balochistan Police have laid down their lives in the line of duty to ensure peace and protect the public, vowing that their sacrifices will not go in vain.
He made these remarks while speaking to a delegation of religious scholars from the National Paigham-e-Pakistan Aman Committee, led by Allama Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, who called on him in Quetta. Additional IG Agha Mohammad Yousaf was also present on the occasion.
IG Tahir welcomed the delegation and noted that Balochistan has been severely affected by terrorism. He said the police force has played its full role in maintaining peace despite limited resources.
“Every responsible and conscious Pakistani citizen has a duty to cooperate with law enforcement agencies for the establishment of peace,” he said, emphasizing the constructive role of religious scholars in promoting harmony and guiding society in accordance with Islamic teachings and the principles of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
He added that the presence of scholars from all schools of thought, as well as representatives of minority communities, in the National Paigham-e-Pakistan Aman Committee reflects unity and inter-sect harmony in the country, which he described as encouraging.
