QUETTA: At least four people, including two women, were killed and nine others, including children, were seriously injured in a head-on collision between two cars near Wadh Bazaar on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway, police said on Friday.
According to DSP Wadh Khalid Hussain, the accident occurred near Drakhala Badrang when a car travelling from Quetta to Karachi collided with another vehicle coming from Karachi to Quetta.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving reports of the crash. The injured were shifted to the Drakhala health centre for first aid before being referred to hospitals in Wadh and Khuzdar for further treatment.
Police said all the deceased and injured belonged to Quetta. Preliminary investigations suggest that excessive speed was the primary cause of the accident, DSP Hussain said.
