QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, visited the families of police officers and personnel martyred in the brutal terrorist attacks in Quetta on January 31, affirming that the Balochistan government will fully stand by them. He asserted that the welfare and care of the martyrs’ families is the foremost responsibility of the state and pledged comprehensive support to ensure they are never left alone.
He met with the grieving families, extended his heartfelt condolences, and offered Fateha in honor of the martyred officers. During the visit, the Chief Minister personally spent time with the children of the fallen personnel, offering them warmth, care, and reassurance. He stressed that these children are not only cherished members of their families but also embody the bright future and hope of the entire nation.
Chief Minister Bugti announced that, under the existing compensation policy, the families of the martyred officers will receive immediate financial assistance along with two government jobs—one within the police department and the other in a different government department. He directed the Additional Chief Secretary Home to issue all related posting orders within one week. Furthermore, he stated that the government will cover all educational expenses for the martyrs’ children, ensuring they can continue their studies without fear or financial burden.
Paying tribute to the sacrifice of martyr ASI Mahmood-ur-Rehman, Chief Minister Bugti ordered that the Sariab Police Station be renamed in his honor. He added that the police department is providing Rs. 5.5 million to the families for house construction and other essential needs, with additional support to be provided as required.
Addressing the families, Chief Minister Bugti said that the people of Balochistan are forever indebted to the blood of the martyrs and reaffirmed his commitment that the state will never abandon the families of martyrs and ghazis. He accused hostile forces, particularly acting at the behest of India, of attempting to destabilize Pakistan and Balochistan through terrorist elements, but asserted that all such conspiracies would ultimately fail. He vowed that the sacred bloodshed would be duly accounted for and that the enemies of the nation would be brought to justice.
