WANA: A high-level meeting of Wana Welfare Association (WAWA) Education Committee was held at Government High School (GHS) Wana to review and finalize comprehensive operational guidelines and disciplinary protocols for the upcoming WAWA Talent Hunt Scholarship Test scheduled for August 30.
During the proceedings, the committee took a series of key decisions and established stringent operational rules governing every stage of the examination process to ensure complete transparency, fairness, and merit.
It is pertinent to mention here that WAWA is a non-profit, non-governmental association established in 1983 to enhance and improve the living standards of the people of South Waziristan through education, agricultural development, improved health facilities, and the prevention of environmental degradation.
The meeting was attended by 17 members of the WAWA Education Committee, including the Superintendents of all 15 examination centres, who reviewed examination procedures and agreed on a comprehensive set of rules and measures aimed at ensuring a transparent and credible testing process.
According to the minutes of the meeting, the committee decided that sealed question-paper packages would be opened in front of students and, where present, their parents or the examination-centre staff. The opening and subsequent packing of question papers would also be documented through photographs and videos to maintain transparency and accountability throughout the examination process.
The committee further decided that roll numbers would be issued at each examination centre according to the approved sequence. Students’ photographs taken for examination records must clearly show their faces along with their roll-number slips.
To maintain the integrity and discipline of the examination, the committee decided that no student would be allowed to enter the examination centre after the test had commenced, except authorised supervisory staff. Any additional or unused question papers would remain securely in the custody of the respective Superintendent.
The Superintendents were directed to ensure a completely peaceful and disciplined examination environment. Question papers would be distributed and collected strictly according to the specified schedule, and no additional time would be granted under any circumstances. Students would also be informed clearly about the applicable negative-marking policy before the commencement of the test.
The committee agreed that if any error or discrepancy was identified in the question paper, the information would immediately be communicated to all candidates to ensure that no student was placed at an unfair disadvantage.
Strict instructions were also issued to supervisory staff to refrain from communicating with or assisting candidates during the examination. Any student found involved in copying or using unfair means would have his or her paper cancelled immediately.
To ensure effective supervision, the committee decided that one examiner or supervisor would be assigned for every 40 students. After completion of the test, all answer papers would be securely packed and transported directly to GHS Wana in accordance with the approved examination procedure.
The committee also directed all examination Superintendents to contact the principals of the concerned schools and seek their cooperation in ensuring the smooth and disciplined conduct of the test.
The WAWA Education Committee reaffirmed its commitment to conducting the August 30 Talent Hunt Scholarship Test in a transparent, fair and merit-based manner, ensuring equal opportunity for every participating student and maintaining the highest standards of discipline and examination integrity.
